a letter to the coalesce community

Being open and honest with the people who support and contribute to Coalesce has always been at the heart of our ethos, so we’re taking a moment to go over why donation costs are higher this year.

First, stuff costs more. This is no secret. With us now entering a recession + high inflation rates we’re seeing that basic needs like portos, wood, and of course gas cost much more than they used to even just last year.

Next, we’re bringing more offerings to the desert this time. Get excited for a second stage, more health-focused and non-musical programming, a fully-formed decked-out chill space, and way more art.

Last, we’re planning to compensate everyone who contributes to the gathering. Whether you’re a DJ or a volunteer, there will be perks and rewards for your participation.

Coalesce is a not-for-profit event. We will never try to take your money for our team’s personal gain. Every cent we make goes into our fund to pay for yearly subscriptions and to start planning for the next year’s gathering.

Last year we hit our goal and broke even for the first time in history. Our aim this year is to get in the green (even slightly) so we have additional financial cushion to be able to sustain our efforts and jump start things for next year’s gathering.

We hope this message shines a light on our intentions with raising donation minimums this year, as well as our decision to introduce an installment / payment plan. It’s a tough time to throw an event, but we’ll get by with a little help from our friends. See you soon.

With gratitude,

Core-alesce Crew
